ABOUT
THE
ACTUAL “SHELL"
The Nell Shell, a 1962 Shasta Airflyte Trailer, comes to New Orleans via the central coast of California. Nell’s Catering Co. partner, Thunder Buck, has chipped away at a massive overhaul over many months, steadily renovating her into an upscale food shack. She’s equipped with all the stuff you want in a portable setting: 2 walk-up windows, including a big ole 12-ft. pop-out window, a reclaimed wood serving counter, a kegerator with 3 taps (plus all the boring kitchen stuff like a 3-compartment sink, hand sink, multiple under-counter fridges, blah blah). A full gut and some fancy decor later (from Nell and partners like Palm Orleans, Business & Pleasure Co., and Visual Comfort), The Nell Shell will make her debut in December 2024. And, yes, private parties are where she really shines. In the meantime, The Nell Shell’s small but mighty menu is available at 3511 Magazine Street from November through February. A carefully curated mix of delicious sandwiches and good vibes, The Nell Shell sources everything from the best of the best - lobster and split -top brioche buns from from Maine and Massachusetts, respectively. Don’t take our word for it, though. Come see for yourself.
